Hi, I don’t quite understand the last example you explained in the harmony module (the more advanced version of exact repetition.
I have enough of a handle on music theory for the course but still doesn’t make much sense. It sounds pretty simple to me just the explanation is not something I understand, could you possibly explain this more simply?
Seems a good course nonetheless.
Ok, I am quite stubborn so after sitting here and watching/reading the instructions over and over i think i have this,
basically all we’re doing is moving (transposing) the original melody notes to the nearest note of a new chord, right?
It helps to give me the exact exercise number. But effectively, when you are repeating a basic idea in a new harmony, you are keeping the same rhythm, and general melodic contour, but you are making sure each note works in the new harmony.
This usually entails moving to the nearest chord tone.
So you are correct.
