Just wondering if I should complete the free course first? Or can I just jump right into the 101 course?

Music Composition 101 covers everything that is in the free course, but in far greater detail. The free course is not a prerequisite. It is really there to show beginner’s they are capable of composing, because many people do not think they have that ability.
The “teacher” really breaks the information down. Moreover, you test your knowledge in a brief quiz at the end of each presentation. There’s also some accompaniment videos with some of the presentation later in the course that walk you through how to apply the principles introduced/explained in the presentation in actual music composition.
You can jump right into the course. The free course is a vague description of the detailed info you will get in the course.
