Prolongation Question (Lesson 5)

Hi,
I don’t completely understand what you mean when you say that you can put any harmony under the repetition section of a sentence because it resolves to tonic.  Does the harmony need to be like in the example (at 7:55 in the video), with a i chord at the end of a measure, or did you just mean that the cadence will resolve to tonic?
