What Are Inversions

September 20, 2017 By Jon Brantingham 2 Comments

What are harmonic inversions? If you’re not using them, you run the risk of writing very boring progressions and pieces.

But they don’t have to be a scary confusing thing.

In this episode, I try to unpack them just a little bit and make them just a little more useful and less intimidating.

      Hi,
I just signed my son up for your free course. We have been listening to your podcast. Your story is great, btw. I think your discussion about finding your calling resonated with him. He is 14, has been playing piano since he was 8. Started playing because he wanted to write music. Just getting around to the writing part after he begged us to get him a composition teacher. We are using your site to help him along. He has written a piece for two violins and piano for The Free Music School where he plays violin. After hearing your podcast, he said he does not care if he does not make any money at playing music and he wants to get a PHD in music composition.

      Thanks for you inspiration!! Really:)
